- [Instructor] There are several ways that you can generate your part thickness. Currently, I just have a large enclosed volume. Let me go ahead and hide the parting surface, and I'll just hide the die line as well as the datum csys here. So here I have my completely enclosed solid volume. If I go into Shell, I basically select the face that I want to remove, and then enter in the thickness that I want. So I'll just start typing thickness, and it'll create that link to the parameter. The nice thing about Shell is that it does give you alternate thicknesses, and you have all sorts of capabilities to go inside thickness and outside thickness. So if I were sculpting, let's say a volume that was going to fit into a bottle, but I'm not quite sure of the shape of the actual final bottle, I could sculpt out where the liquid would sit, and then do an outside shell. So I have lots of options here within the shell tool. Now with the shell tool, if I come in, and let me just simple select okay…
