What you should know
- [Instructor] This course has no prerequisites. Basic knowledge in Linux operating systems, or OS, will be helpful, but don't worry if you're not familiar with the Ubuntu Linux OS I use throughout this course. Any knowledge of networking is also beneficial. I'll explain what I'm doing without assuming any prior knowledge, and you shouldn't have any problems understanding my instructions. I did all the hands-on in this course using the Microsoft Azure cloud platform. You can get a free Azure account for 12 months, which allows you to create virtual machines, or VMs, in virtual networks. If you'd like to follow along, I recommend that you create your Azure account. At a minimum, you need two Ubuntu server VMs and one Windows 10 VM. By the end of this course, you will have a reasonable understanding of Linux and Networking in general, in addition to learning how to protect your network with open source software.
