- [Narrator] Peter Sondergaard from Gartner says, "Information is the oil of the 21st century, and analytics is the combustion engine," and this is reflected in the evolution of NoSQL, in the time I've been working with the ecosystem. The first big trend I'm seeing is consolidation of the NoSQL market. I'm observing that open-source based companies seem to be declining in number and in market adoption, and they seem to be being replaced by either cloud vendor supported versions or by cloud vendor replacements. I'm also seeing consolidation by mergers of the NoSQL companies. I'm further observing consolidation by current NoSQL products such as, Redis for example, adding features, NoSQL databases that were started in one category. Key-Value in the case of Redis are adding capabilities and some of the other categories such as, documents or wide column. And I'm seeing the preference for customers that want tools and support…
