- [Voiceover] Hi, this is Steve Wright welcoming you to this week's Nuke Nugget, some tips on getting more out of a Merge node. The Merge node has a number of built-in features that compositers often overlook that could be useful when compositing a shot. In this video, we'll look at Merge node settings that will help with Troubleshooting, Alpha Channel management, Bounding Box behaviors, and using the difference operation for shot inspection. Let's start by looking at troubleshooting a node graph. Come over here and push in. Now you'd like to have your Merge nodes arranged such that if you disable them, you can see the difference on the background plate. Unfortunately, when I disable this Merge node, I don't see the background plate without my lovely sunset effect, I see the sunset effect by itself. I'd like to fix that. So the first step, is we need to swap these inputs, which is easy to do. With the Merge node selected, type Shift X, input swap, course that messes up the comp. Next,…
