The Crop node

The Crop node

Use the Crop node if you want to crop an image to a new size. Interestingly, by default, the Crop node will actually mask your image to black. To actually do a crop, you must click on the magic button. Let's see how it works, I'll select my Read node, come over to the transform tab, slide down, and pick a Crop node. And it drops in, my data stream. You'll immediately see in the viewer, we now have these new outlines. And, these are the interactive, on screen, crop controls. So you can just, you know, dial them in, until you like your crop. This gives you a visual cropping method. You may also adjust the parameters here, for example, I could move the left edge in and out with the numbers. Now, this x and y, these are in fact the lower left-hand coordinates of the picture. So, for example, if I adjust my y value, the bottom edge comes up and down. The r and the t, that's the right and the top, so right edge and top edge.
