- As you prepare to create your form, there are two possibilities. One possibility is that, you're creating a form based on something that already exists. You have a stack of paper based forms in a box or you have a Microsoft Word document that you're going to add form controls to. The second possibility is, you're doing something you've never done before in your business and you need a brand new form that doesn't exist. Before you begin creating the form, I want to encourage you to take a look at the templates that you can download for free from Microsoft. Because they might provide exactly the starting point you need. Simple choose File, New and if you wish to make searching easier enter the word "Form" in the Search box. Word is now searching thousands of online templates in all of these different categories. So, for example, if it was some kind of a medical form, click Medical and take a look at the medical forms.
