- [Instructor] Inserting and formatting message content is an important part of Outlook. For the MOS exam, you want to know how to format text, apply themes and styles, insert hyperlinks, insert images and add signatures to individual messages. My first task is to open the meeting agenda draft and apply formatting. I'll start by clicking the Drafts folder at the left and I'll double-click on the meeting agenda email. I'll start by applying some formatting to the text within the message. Notice the message tab includes a basic text area. These items remain grayed out until I click in the body of the message. In addition to these basic text options, there's also a format text tab. One thing I'd like to point out before we get started, is that it's always good to make sure your messages are in HTML or rich text format if you're going to be applying formatting.
