- [Instructor] We're going to begin our work with time management by considering our work, and that's because we really don't get to manage time. We get 24 hours in a day. We can't buy more. We can't give some of ours to someone else, so we can't really manage time. We can only manage ourselves and our own work, and one of our important goals in this course is to categorize our work into three different piles based on how much time we believe that work is going to take. Someone sends us an email or walks into our office and hands us a new piece of work, a task, a job, a project, whatever it is there's something new that needs to be done, and it's been given to us. It's possible that it will take a long time, and that's our first category of work. Work that will take a long time. Another possibility is that it will take a relatively short time, and then the third possibility is it will take just a few minutes.
