From the course: Learning PHP
Should you learn PHP?
- [Joe] One of the most popular languages for creating dynamic websites is PHP, but with the popularization of JavaScript tools, like React and Angular, is it worth investing your time in learning PHP? The answer unequivocally is yes. For many web applications, PHP is very much an integral part of what makes them work. Front end tools like React can not talk to a database or provide a backend infrastructure like PHP can. Further, popular content management systems like WordPress and Drupal and websites like Facebook, Wikipedia, and Yahoo, all use PHP. In fact, 80% of all websites use at least some PHP. Learning PHP will give you the skills you need to develop and maintain dynamic, interactive websites. Hi, I'm Joe Casabona, a front end developer and educator who's been using PHP since 2003 and WordPress since 2004. So join me in my LinkedIn Learning course, which will show you everything you need to know to start using PHP.
