Emulating analog media with Painter

In terms of Expressive Digital Painting applications, Painter is the best of breed. Now 23 years young, Painter has always been primarily focused on emulating traditional analog media. Think oils, acrylics, chalks, charcoals, watercolors, airbrushes and just about any other traditional medium you can think of. Now, let's take a look at the Painter universe. One of the first things we're going to talk about is the wide variety of expressive media that's possible in Painter. You can see here it has all sorts of categories, and within each category there are a group of already preset brushes. So you've literally got hundreds of brushes to choose from within painter. You'll find that the painter interface is in many ways very similar to Photoshop. So if you are a Photoshop user, you'll feel comfortable right away with many of the concepts around painters user interface.
