- [Instructor] When you're especially new to Painter, you can encounter all sorts of areas where you just don't have a clue as to what things mean. And hints as well its related tool tips are both ways that can give you instant feedback so that you can kind of get an idea of how a specific tool works. Now one of those is the actual hints themselves. And if we go to Window, we can go down here and enable Hints. And the first thing it'll actually show you is an explanation of how hints work. So you've got a basic set of rules and things that you can read here that will explain how to get the information in the various areas. And just to show you some of this, if I go, for example, to the brush palette, and I switch to a category like, oh, let's do texture source. It will actually give you a whole explanation of what the texture source brushes are designed to do and how to take advantage of them. So you've got, within hints, and a number of the brushes.
