Introduction to abstract painting
The first style of digital painting we're going to tackle is abstraction. I chose this style due to its broad, expressive potential. Abstraction is more of a celebration of expressive mark making than it is trying to duplicate something out in the world. It is also an opportunity to explore brushes we may never use otherwise. There is no correct approach to abstract painting, other than using the characteristics of your brush work to express your emotion. In fact, we can use abstraction to play a game of brushin' roulette, in which we randomly pick brushes and find ways to make them work together. Now, load your brushes.
