Pre-simplifying a photo with the Smart Blur filter

- [Instructor] This chapter focuses on San Francisco and its famous cable cars. I often refer to image detail as high-frequency information. In this video, we'll start with a photo, and begin to simplify it by using the smart blur filter to remove the high-frequency detail. Here we go. We'll begin with this photograph, this is a shot I took in San Francisco a few years back, and the first thing we want to do, as I mentioned, is get rid of this high-frequency detail. So a lot of the little details, even in the background here, you can see almost individual leaves within these clusters. Or at least the clusters of leaves themselves. That's high-frequency detail and then it even gets more high-frequency when you get into all these little folds on the shirt, the details in the faces, that's all high-frequency.
