Preliminary sketching

Sketching is a fundamental expressive skill. You can use it to give directions, pass the time, visually document a location, and more. But sketching also provides a means to get an idea out of your head and into the world where it can be shared with others. This is the basis for all visual art. As such, expressive sketching is a great skill to develop over time. I'm going to do a sketch of the still life that we're working on in this course. And of course, I've looked at it a lot in development of the course. So I have a pretty good idea of it in my head. But when I started, I did have to kind of think through you know, what do I want this to look like. And so, I did sit down and I sketched a bit to, figure out how I wanted the still life to appear. And so, I'm going to replicate that now. So, I'll begin the sketch here. The great thing about sketching is that you are not under pressure to arrive at the ultimate grand finale.
