Use a dry brush to smear a wet photograph

Assuming that you've already composed and tonally adjusted a source photograph, you can now concentrate fully on the expressive character of your applied brush strokes. Rather than simply grabbing the nearest digital paint brush and start dipping into your photo, you'll want to first try out some brushes to determine which ones fit the expressive character you are seeking. Let's do this right now, so the first question you want to ask yourself, assuming you've been using an application like a Photoshop or a Painter, is there any brushes that you already use in normal painting that you like. And I'm, I'm going to show you a couple that I like. So this is one that has a lot of nice character in in, it's kind of a raw brush, and you can see it does a little bit of picking up color, as well as mixing it in the brush.
