Making the first work print

- I'm really excited about what we get to do now. As you can see we're in a safelit environment in a darkroom we've created. You'll notice a color cast to everything you see during these segments, and you'll also hear a little bit of a hum, and that's due to the safelight itself. You've gotta put up with that in order to be able to see what we're doing in here. We've got our negative in the enlarger, and I've already done my tests for a split filter work print. If you wanna learn more about that process, please watch my course, Shooting and Processing Black-and-White Film, where I explain a lot more fully how we do the split filter printing. I've got everything set. I'm gonna go ahead and put a piece of paper in the enlarger. Open up the easel carefully so I don't move it. Lock the paper into the little slot for eight by 10 at the back, and make sure it's shifted to the left side of the slot, that aligns it perfectly in the enlarger, or in the easel, and then I'm gonna carefully close…
