- So with our second test we determined that we wanted to use a 3 1/2 contrast filter for a 10-second exposure in order to make our work print. So now I'm gonna get out a whole sheet of paper, I'm gonna carefully place it into the easel. Notice too as I put it in the easel there's a little slot that receives it, and then you need to move it to the left of the slot, that centers it in the easel. The slot's a little bit wider than the paper. I'm gonna seal my paper back up. A quick mention too, the box is not light-tight but the black plastic bag within it is, so you really need to be careful about getting that bag wrapped around underneath it. I'm gonna reset my time here to 10 seconds, and then I'm gonna just expose the whole sheet for 10 seconds. Once again, the combination of time, which is your exposure, and filtration, which is your contrast control, is what makes for a properly exposed work print.
