Battery and power requirements

When dealing with time lapses, batteries are a must. It's much different than just taking one single photograph, you're taking hundreds if not thousands of photographs, which can be very taxing on your batteries. A couple things you want to do to make sure you have enough power is make sure you have enough batteries. Make sure they're all charged and ready to go. Also take into consideration what exactly you're trying to accomplish. Are you trying to accomplish about an hour time lapse or an all night time lapse? On a lot of shoots, a single battery will do. A lot of times I carry a couple of them, make sure they're fully charged, and I always put a fresh battery in for every new time lapse shot. When shooting a longer time lapse, you need a lot more power, and that's where something like a battery grip comes in real handy. It provides hours of continuous battery power, to ensure that you don't have to try to change batteries midway through your shot, which definitely will not work…
