Pro tip, be a chameleon. This is a little weird. And this is actually maybe going to be a little interesting to some of you who have never thought of it. But there are times when you want to look like a photographer. Because it connotes some sense of mission. Some reason for you to be there taking pictures. And maybe an excuse for you to introduce yourself to people. There are times when you want to look like a tourist. Just someone totally innocuous. Nothing to fear here. I'm just a guy with a camera. And there are times you don't want to appear to even have a camera. If you're carrying minimal gear pack, it's very easy to switch between those three looks. For instance, I often travel with one or two very small cameras. They'll be in my pack. Or one camera will be out typically. And one camera will be in my pack, or maybe in my room if I don't think I'm going to need it. But if I just want to appear to be a tourist, I will have just one camera around my neck.
