- Welcome back to the Five-Day Photo Challenge. This is the solution to day three, which was framing. So I wanted you to go out and find some kind of element in the world and use it to frame your subject. I headed out with Rose to take a portrait because I had spotted something earlier that I thought might work as a framing device. Once I got started, it turned out to be much, much trickier than I thought for a couple of different reasons. I got all this dappled light in here, which was making things difficult, and also it's just hard figuring out the scale of how things should go. I was using an 18-55 lens, so like the equivalent to a 24-70, so a basic walk-around lens, because I knew I was going to need some versatility and that I was going to want the option of changing the space in the scene by standing further back and zooming in.
