How focus affects the impression of the image

- Well, we've learned to recognize how the subtlety of shutter speeds to freeze or blur our image has much to do with its success. We saw how powerful a force for good photos with lots of depth of field can be; or its opposite, selective focus, which minimizes depth of field and forces the eye to the sharp focal point of the picture. Another focus factor is where within the frame you choose to focus; because the focused area draws the viewers' eyes towards it and can affect how the viewer perceives that image. Making a wrong choice here can have a detrimental weakening effect on the photo, even change its meaning. In a picture like this, you can see that everything's in focus, so there's no real issue here. With images with lots of depth of field, you want to have everything in focus, so obviously, it's going to rely on the light and the composition to move the viewers' eyes within the frame.
