Once Tony had our pie in the oven, I knew we had some real time to spend where we could actually get outside of the kitchen. And where we weren't stuck just photographing the process of making a pie. This is the kind of stuff I really get excited about. I love doing portraits. I love setting up portraits, I love thinking about the locations. And I want to put people within a space. This is one of those things that, as a photographer, if you're working editorially or for a newspaper. You're always going to be taking lots of portraits. That's what people need. So learn to love doing this. When I first saw this location, from the outside as I drove by. One of the things that drew me to it, was there's a huge sign on the outside of the space, that just says pie in bright, big yellow letters. I loved it. I knew that somehow I wanted to incorporate this into a photograph. Not just as a flat image looking at the outside of the building. Once I determined the location that I wanted to shoot…
