Brooke Shaden's Conceptual Photography
(MUSIC). I'm really drawn to abandoned places. (MUSIC). Abandoned, to me, is wonderful because it's something that is decayed, it's something that has been lost. (MUSIC). That brings an element that we don't normally see. It's something where somebody has clearly left the space. And, I want to tap into why that space was abandoned, and how we can play with it in a new way. (MUSIC). It's sort of bringing something old and decayed back to life again. (MUSIC). That's the kind of thing that motivates me is figuring out what doesn't go together and how it can go together. (MUSIC). My desire to create new worlds with my images comes from the way that I see the world. And so, you know some people see life as it really is, and they want to capture that, and they want to, you know, put that out there. And I want to capture life as it is in my imagination. Not what I'm seeing in front of me but, you know what I could be seeing. What other people could see if they looked hard enough. (MUSIC)…
