- Earlier I talked a little bit about the history of Cuba and some of the things that led to what we see there today. And I didn't talk a lot about cars at that point and there was a reason for that because for me, the cars are the special aspect of what's going on there, and I wanted to talk about them separately. So Cuba is known for their classic American cars. They're lovingly referred to as yank tanks. (laughing) That's what they're called, and there's a really love affair in Cuba with the people with these cars. And there's a little bit of history that's involved with how this situation developed. And it really does go back to the embargo. So, at the time that the embargo went into place, and I'm talking about the US embargo on Cuba, there were about 150,000 American cars in Cuba at that time. Now what happened with the embargo is that suddenly, they could not get parts anymore for those cars. And that includes engine parts, body parts, all of that kind of stuff. Even paint and…
