Working with open shade

In this course, our focus is on how we can use natural and available light in order to create strong and interesting bridal portraits. And here, we're going to focus in on another really important type of light, and that is outdoor shade. Outdoor shade allows you to capture wonderful portraits, and you can almost find this type of light anywhere. All that you need to do is look for those situations where there's something that's creating shade, that's blocking the sun, perhaps it's a tree, or maybe an overhang. And why this light is nice is because it's really soft. It's not harsh, there's no direct sun coming onto the bride. Another thing that you want to keep in mind when you're looking for good open shade is you want to look for something which might bounce light back into the shade. In our particular situation, there were some nice warm tones. There also was some sand-colored ground. That's going to bounce some nice warm light back towards the shaded areas. So after having…
