Post-processing on the foamy water photo
- Now, I noticed some interesting foam in the foreground once high tide came in and I thought, "How cool would it be to do a long exposure "and have that foam rolling through "and give me the streaky lines?" Well, it didn't quite happen that way. Once I got set up and I started the exposure the foam started to kind of move out to sea. And I also had an exposure issue where the foreground was a little bit dark and the background was so bright. As the clouds were moving I kept getting these bright patches. So, if you're looking at this image on the screen here, you'll see that I don't have any foam in the foreground. But what I do have is mood, and a lot of it. I actually really like this image. At first I look at it and I say, gosh, I really hit the right side of that histogram. That's really blown out. Let's hit the J key and see that red area tells me there's no detail there. If I make an attempt to pull that back, if I pull it back with the highlights and whites, the red goes away…
