- I'm just gonna zigzag our way up the valley here, alright? (shutter clicks) (shutter clicks) (shutter clicks) - In this image we see the spine of a mountain range just shooting off into the distance and I really like the composition, but it's problematic, it's incredibly contrasty. So I want to look at a couple things here. I want to look at how we can rescue some of that contrast and also how, instead of doing a global adjustment, I'm gonna kind of show you how to do an adjustment to one particular part of the image or make a localized adjustment. So the first thing I want to do is really work on these four items, the highlights, shadows, whites, and blacks. The clouds are getting very close to blown out. If I hit the "J" key, if anything shows red it's blown out. And fortunately it's not, but look how close I am, if I just move those just a little bit you start to see the red pop up.
