Shooting foam on the water using 10-stop ND filter
After that great boat trip through the Milford Sound, we now find ourselves back to the shore and a completely different tide. You know, earlier we shot low tide. That entire area is filled in with water. And what I'm noticing, on top of that water, is foam. Now foam in itself is not photogenic at all. In fact, it's not very aesthetically pleasing. But, what we can do is we can use long exposures. And through the use of long exposures, that foam is going to move and form streaks and those are leading lines which help bring us to Mitre Peak and Milford Sound. So we're gonna attempt to do is use a wide-angle lens. We're gonna meter the scene and then we're gonna go ahead and use a 10-stop filter. So, let's make our way down to the water. You'll notice that I still have my water shoes on so that I can work on the shore and not have to worry about getting wet. The tripod's gonna need to be very stable because we're talking about a very long exposure. Now, I'm gonna use a polarizer in…
