Shooting a waterfall from a boat
- We're on the boat entering the sound, and the first thing we're going to see is Bowen Falls. This is one of the only, there's only two permanent falls. A lot of it's seasonal based on rain, this one's here year round, it's a spectacular waterfall. We're going to do a shoot that's handheld, we've got a 55 to 200 long lens. We're going to use these trees as a foreground. Going to make sure we get polarization on it. Okay, I'm going to raise my ISO, I'm not getting a fast enough shutter speed. (camera clicking) I'm working fast and furious here. When you're on a moving, you know, something a boat, a plane, a car, and you're trying to shoot landscapes, you've gotta move quick. I've got the long lens on to pull details here, and I'm hand holding everything, okay? Now this is foreign to me, I love my tripod, I'm always on my tripod, you've probably never seen me without it, unless I'm trying to find a composition. But I'm trying to take fine art images just by hand holding. A couple…
