Aircraft registration

- Is it a toy or is it an aircraft? Well, it depends on who you ask. For the FAA, the SUAS is an aircraft. And like any other types of civil aircraft, you must register it, before you can fly it, in the national airspace. You must register the aircraft if it is greater than 0.55 pounds and operated under the provisions of 14 CFR Part 107. However, if the owner is less than 13 years old, then the small unmanned aircraft must be registered by a person who is at least 13 years old. To register go to http://www.faa.gov/uas/registration. When you register your aircraft, you will get a unique registration number. You must display this number on your aircraft, and it must be visible and legible.
