Animating the 3D camera

- [Instructor] Your virtual camera can move in 3D space. If we take a look at our scene here, I have my light and the camera itself. If I click on the camera, it's a little bit easier to see what's happening. The camera, like everything else in After Effects, can be keyframed, so if I twirl down the controls here, and take a look at both Transform and Camera Options, you'll see that everything is keyframeable. For example, I can simply keyframe the zoom. Starting here at one value, and jumping forward a bit and increasing the zoom. As I do, you see how it pushes in on the subject. Because the stopwatch was turned on, it keyframed. Let's also keyframe the point of interest. This is where the camera's pointing. I'll start where it is, but as we get more zoomed in, I'll just tilt up slightly by adjusting the Y property, and use the X property to reframe the subject.
