Autofocus basics
- Your Canon camera has many different ways to auto-focus. Now the exact settings will vary from camera to camera, but let's talk about the highlights. Now, I'm in Green Zone Auto here, and you see by default, it focuses on what it believes to be closest to the lens. In this case, it's trying to decide between the globe and the hourglass. They're both about equidistant. If I press the Quick Menu, you see that we have a little bit of control here, including the ability to do FlexiZone Single. This allows me to specifically target where I want to focus, and then, when I half-press the Shutter button, (camera clicks) it engages, and you see there that I can take relatively precise control, but if we want more options, let's go to a slightly more controlled variable, and we'll go here to Aperture Priority mode, or Av.
