Autofocus range limiter

- On certain lenses, you'll find a switch that relates to distance in some way. So on this lens, for example, I have a distance marking for three meters to infinity, and then another option for full. And that relates to focus distance. In other words, over what range of distances will the lens actually search for autofocus? Generally speaking, I probably want that autofocus range set to full. This lens can focus as close as about three feet, for example, and obviously can focus at a very far distance as well. But I might want to limit in certain situations. For example, if I'm photographing subjects off at a distance, maybe birds in flight or here in the city, even buildings off in the distance, I might not want to take the extra time essentially to have that autofocus searching very close, when I know I want it to focus far away. And so I can limit the autofocus range. So here, for example, limiting it so that will only focus as close as three meters, or about 10 feet away, so that…
