Battery precautions

- When you're finished photography for a little while, chances are you simply put your camera away and forget about it. Perhaps the camera's still in your backpack, for example. You put that backpack into the closet and don't think about the camera until you need it again for photography. But there's one additional step that you might consider that can help prevent damage and also extend the life of your battery and that is to remove the battery from the camera if you won't be using that camera for an extended period of time. Admittedly, the risk of the battery causing harm to the camera when the camera's just not being used for a while is rather slight, but there is some risk and camera manufacturers do recommend removing the battery when the camera won't be used for a while. In addition, it's quite possible that your camera may be depleting that battery at a relatively quick rate even when the camera is turned off.…
