- [Steve] I think that capturing candid street portraits is perhaps my favorite kind of photography. Hi, I'm Steve Simon, the Passionate Photographer. And welcome to a new edition of Photo Critique of the Week. I think that the idea of capturing candid people out on the streets, for me, is so satisfying is, or I think the reason is, that it's not an easy thing to do. You've heard me before on this show talk about how when you're physically close to your subject, with a kind-of wide-angle lens, or something anormal to a wide-angle lens, there's kind-of no escaping or blending into the woodwork. You're there. And it takes a little bit of getting out of my comfort zone to be able to sort-of raise that camera, be so close, and try and capture a moment that's happening in front of me on the street.
