- Now if you find all of these menu options and dials a bit confusing, don't worry, you're not alone. Canon has a couple of options built into some of their newer cameras to make things a bit easier. One of the things you'll find are guided menus. These, not only take the menus from being dark to being light. So if you prefer a different visual style, you might like these. They also allow you to have a little bit of an overview of what each page is about giving you some simple built-in help to understand where to find things. This is really just a slight redesign to the visual style, but Canon has provided both options in many cameras because of traditional shooters and newer shooters who might prefer one style over the other another option that's great is called feature assist. This is designed to make it easier to understand features. For example, if you put the camera into aperture priority mode, you don't have to remember what's the difference between F4 and F18.
