Chimping: Good or bad?

- One of the great advantages of a digital camera is the fact that we have a screen on the back so that we can review our images after the capture, but this leads to a lot of criticism, photographers suggesting you should not review your photos on the back of the camera. It's referred to as chimping, and it's generally regarded as something of a bad thing. And I certainly understand the notion of not wanting to be reviewing your photos while you're missing something really good happening, you're missing another photographic opportunity. And so you'll want to make sure that if you need to review, checking your exposure, checking the histogram, checking your sharpness, overall camera settings, whatever the need, even just confirming that the composition is working for a particular setup, don't be hesitant to review the photo, but do be aware of what else is going on around you.
