Choosing media card capacity

- A digital camera, of course, creates digital files. We're capturing images and storing them as files, so we can then download to our computer's hard drives, for example. But in between, we need some sort of storage device, and that would the media card, the memory cards that we're able to put into our camera. Of course, you need to think about which type of card, an SD card versus a compact flash card, for example. But one of the key decisions that needs to be made as a photographer, is the capacity of those media cards. Do you get a card with huge capacity, or a card with lesser capacity? The idea is that I'd rather spread out the risk. In other words, if I lose a card, if a card gets corrupted, or damaged, or lost, I don't want to lose too many photos. And so, in general, I don't opt for the highest capacity cards. In this case, I'm using a camera that, with a 32 gigabyte card, I can get around about a thousand photos or so onto that card when I'm capturing in the raw capture…
