Cleaning your own sensor

- Dust spots on your camera's sensor can be a real problem because those spots will likely appear in every single photo you capture and may require considerable cleanup work in post processing. But you can help avoid that problem all together by making sure that your camera's sensor remains clean. Now part of that is just good habits. So, for example, only changing lenses within an enclosed space ideally, not in a dusty or damp environment. But, when dust or other contaminates do get onto the sensor it is possible to clean the sensor yourself. Now, I don't really recommend this for most photographers, you might want to send the camera to your camera manufacturer's support department and have them clean it for you. And in fact, in some cases, cleaning the camera's sensor yourself might void the warranty. At least as it relates to the sensor within the camera. If you damage your camera while cleaning it, you're going to need to pay for the repairs, and those repairs can quite frankly…
