- Now besides the ability to transfer pictures, you can actually turn your smartphone into a remote control. Maybe you wanta shoot close-up photography; you don't wanta touch the camera to minimize vibration. Or maybe you're experimenting with some different shots, and you wanta really see the settings and use your phone to control your camera. This could be really useful when taking things like a group portrait. It's pretty simple. Now what I can do is click Camera settings. This will allow me to make some adjustments to my camera. For example, I could tell it that I want the camera to automatically pick up the date and time from my smartphone and set the area based upon my geography, and send that information to the camera. Now the date and time as well as GPS data is accurate. Notice we can also choose Location information. This is going to allow me to start logging so my smartphone can capture the current location.
