- I love a parade. Why? Well because there are great pictures to be had at a parade. Hi I'm Steve Simon, The Passionate Photographer, and welcome to Photo Critique of the Week, and this week we're going to look at some photos from a parade. At a recent workshop that I gave, we somehow managed to finagle press passes and really in New York City and The Columbus Day Parade, it's the only way to cover a parade because otherwise you're behind the barricades and very limited in terms of the kinds of images that you can get. So, let's take a look at the selection. It's just a short selection that I've chosen for you guys to see, just to get a sense and I think the main reason why I chose a lot of these images is because they captured the feeling and the energy of what a parade is. I mean, a parade is a lot of different things, it's remembrances, but it's really a fun thing and it's a way to sort of, note a time, an anniversary, some important moment in history and for the kids really to…
