- [Steve] One of my mantras in photography is, the more personal you make it, the more universal it becomes. And that's because photography really is this universal language. Hi, I'm Steve Simon, The Passionate Photographer, and welcome to a new edition of Photo Critique of the Week. So, the more personal you're willing to get in terms of what you create photographically, chances are, the more powerful it's going to be to the viewer, because people understand that. You know, we're all humans, and as a universal language, we all understand when something goes a little bit below the surface or deeper below the surface and really communicates something that is personal. And we see that in all different kinds of art, you know, movies, novels, et cetera. So, the work this week I wanted to share with you was that of Frances Bruchez who's a photographer based in Switzerland, and she did some work in Tokyo, Japan.
