Enhancing the image with digital lighting
- [Instructor] When you light a scene, the first light that you should add is an ambient light. This is the base lighting level. I'll do this by choosing Layer, New, Light. Now, choose the light type of Ambient to set the base lighting. And I'll usually set this around 65% as a starting place. When I click okay, you'll see the entire scene gets a little darker. Let's add a spotlight. Layer, New, Light. Now, I'll change the light type to Spot, and when I click okay, you'll see it puts a spotlight into the scene. Now, this light can be moved around. If I click on it, I could pull it back. I could lift it up, grab its handle and point it at my subject. And you see that that's creating nice shadows on the backdrop, with a little bit of fall off, but what's not happening is our subject casting a shadow onto the background. For this, we need to look at our subject, and adjust the properties. So if I twirl down the Properties here and go to Material Options, you'll see Cast Shadows. Now, I'm…
