- I'm the kind of photographer that really appreciates all genres of photography, and maybe you're like me. There's certain areas that I'm not really interested in pursuing with my own camera, but when other passionate photographers do, I totally appreciate it. Hi, I'm Steve Simon, The Passionate Photographer. And welcome to another edition of Critique of the Week. This week, we're going to look at the work of Soichi Hayashi, who's a Japanese photographer. Who works in a very kind of different mindset than I do. I happen to know that Soichi does all different kinds of photography, but the images that he sent me really represent the passion that he feels in terms of when he's out doing work just for himself, and not for any kind of commercial endeavor. So let's take a look at some of Soichi's work. And I think that you know sometimes the camera looks both ways. There's no question about that.
