- The goal of just about any photograph, of course, is to express something. Even if you're taking pictures of cereal boxes for an advertisement, you're still trying to express an idea, or something like that. When I'm out shooting landscape, I'm generally trying to capture and express something of what I'm feeling while I'm there. And that means that my emotional state has an impact on what I shoot. I've been stuck inside for two days in gray weather with non-stop rain, so coming out here today has been great. I've just been really happy walking around here in this really nice weather. It's winter, and yeah, I've got the big coat on and everything, but I haven't had to take it off. The weather is beautiful, it's just a great place to be. The lake is very tranquil right now. And so I've been walking around, mostly constructing geometric ideas with the different forms that I see around. But there's something that is playing…
