Exposure lock

- Exposure lock is quite useful if you're shooting a subject and you want to re-compose the frame. For example, you can use the Auto Exposure Lock button, and this is great for things like portraits, or panoramic photos. When you lock the exposure in the focus you can now pan and not worry about things changing throughout the scene. Now, it's pretty simple. First, focus the subject. The easiest way to do this is to half press the shutter button. Now, the exposure settings are going to be displayed, and the camera meters the scene. Now, what we could do is press the exposure lock button. It's this one here, the asterisk key. And what happens is is that the settings are locked. So now, even if we release the button, here, you see they stay the same. We can continue to press and release the shutter, but the settings in the camera don't change. Now, this is quite useful.
