Fix backlight problems with fill flash
- One of the things you should already understand about your camera, is that it sees a smaller range of light to dark, that is, a smaller dynamic range, than your eye does. So, I'm standing here right now with Kristin, So, think about, for a moment, the direction of light situation we've got. We've got a very bright light out here, and it's shining through this window, which means, I'm basically standing in her shadow. And to my eye, things look fine. I can see detail on her face. I can see detail back there. That's because the human eye has a fantastic dynamic range. Unfortunately, we don't have a camera of any kind that has that sort of dynamic range. The video cameras that we're using right now, when they look at her, they see a silhouette. The cameras expose for the background to preserve detail back there, which is great, if what you want but we want to see her, and that's not happening. My still camera is going to have the same problem. I've got everything in automatic mode…
