(bright music) - When it comes to pulling off a successful family photo shoot, one of the secrets that I've discovered that I want to share with you is what I call flow. Now, when it comes to flow, I tend to think about a photo shoot this way. There is before the shoot, the beginning of the shoot, the middle, and then the end. So before the shoot, what I like to do is to jot down a few ideas about the vision for the shoot. I also write down everyone's name so I get to know the family as well. Then next at the beginning of the shoot, what I do is show up a half an hour early so I can scout out the location, check out the light, make sure there aren't any distractions like construction or parking issues or other things like that. Then about 15 minutes before the family arrives, I send them a text and say, hey, I'm down here at the location. It's a beautiful day. Can't wait to see you, exclamation point.
