Focusing manually

- While I usually use auto-focus, sometimes I find myself needing to focus manually. This could be for more control when shooting video, where the subject often moves, or you need to change focus in the middle of a shot, or perhaps it's a moving subject that auto-focus is having a difficult time tracking. Or maybe you want to manipulate focus creatively, to really get shallow depth of field. Or, sometimes if I'm shooting a time-lapse, I'll set the auto-focus to off, and manually focus. This way the camera doesn't change over time, and I have a locked focus through the entire scene. Plus, if you don't have a lot of light in the scene, you might find yourself needing to manually focus. Now, in order to manually focus, you need to flip the switch on the camera. On the side here, I'll just go from auto-focus to manual. And, you'll notice, as well, on the top that the screen updates, indicating as we change out of an auto-focus method.
