Global lighting adjustments

- [Instructor] This is Craig, the athlete I photographed earlier in the course. I designed the lighting to accentuate his muscles. Now I'm going to increase the drama by working with global adjustments in Lightroom. In the Edit panel, go to Light and adjust Exposure. I moved the black slider to darken the blacks, then decrease the highlights to keep detail in the bright areas. I want to make sure that there's still tone. Now adjust the whites. In this photo, it increases the midtones and highlights, adding contrast. I'm using the black, highlight, and white adjustments to add contrast because the regular contrast adjustment caused the highlights to lose tone. Now I'll tweak the exposure a little bit. There we go. To keep separation between his arm in the background, I increased the shadows. Here's the before and here's the after. Now there's just one last adjustment I'd like to make.
